Roma Crouch, 81 of Many, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2023 in Many, Louisiana. She was born on April 9, 1942, to John Henry Lovelady and Minnie Verena (Bass) Lovelady in Many, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 9891 Texas Highway, Many, Louisiana. Funeral services honoring the life of Jean will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Beulah Baptist Church, 31665 Highway 191, Many, Louisiana. Her services will be officiated by Bro. Kenneth Leach with Sarah Flowers assisting; interment to follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The highlight of Jean’s youth was playing basketball for the Negreet Lady Indians in the 1950’s-1960’s where she was a member of numerous state championship teams that were coached by Earl Speight. She went on to have a career working 20+ years at the Walker-Kurth mill around the Houston, Texas area. She loved her family and enjoyed bowling.

Preceding her in death are her parents, John Henry and Minnie Verena Lovelady; her sisters, Bernice Rogers (Bob), Bertha Oliver (Franklin), Estelle Brown (Bill), Eliza Melancon (Lynn) Rogers (Junior), Virgie Evans (George), Hazel Crouch (J.D.), Inez Knopp (Arthur), and Rosemary King (Tommy); her husband of 50 years, Ivan Leon Crouch; her brother- in-law, J. C. Hippler; and her sister-in-law, Linda Lovelady. She is survived by her sister, Jewel Hippler of Longview, TX; and her brother, John Lovelady of Zwolle, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Richard Lee, Cameron Lee, Kristen Perez, Kyle Knopp, Jason Heard, Darryl Crouch, and Tim Gill.
