Georgia Armour, 91, of Brenham, Texas passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023. No formal services are scheduled at this time.

Born March 1, 1932, in Many, Louisiana, Georgia was the daughter of Harold and Nettie Mae Maxey. Georgia enjoyed cooking many delicious meals and loved working in her garden. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and always loved helping others.

Georgia and Swep lived in many places during Swep’s service in the Air Force and started his career with Eastern Airlines in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, then transferred to Charlotte, North Carolina, and back down to Houston. Georgia worked for Sears for many years. When they retired they moved to Corrigan, TX. After several years they moved to Brenham, TX to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Georgia was an active member of First Baptist Church of Brenham’s choir and worked for four years as a receptionist at Champion Fellowship Church Brenham. Georgia loved people and stayed very active helping and connecting with others.

Her parents, Harold and Nettie; and a brother, George Maxey, precede her in death.

Georgia leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 72 years, Swepson Freeman Armour; one son, Swepson “David” Armour; two daughters, Judy Armour Carney, and Kathy and husband David Adams; three grandchildren, Chantel Wilson, Marshall Adams, and Aspen Colson; five great-grandchildren, Alex Wilson, Maddie Wilson, Creed Adams, Caleb Adams, and baby Colson due in November.

The family would like to thank Carriage Inn for their loving care of our parents and for the amazing support and loving hospice care by Emily with Encompass for both Mom and Dad.
