Billy Wayne Cook

Funeral services for Billy Wayne Cook will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Pisgah Baptist Church with Reverend C.M. Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Ryan Aras, Zane Cook Blake Cook, Terry Thiels, Kenneth Sasser, and Michael Thiels. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Sasser, Scott Sasser, and Mitchell Reavis.

A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Billy was born September 23, 1938, in Alexandria, Louisiana and passed away February 8, 2023, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 84. His occupation was an electrician and he worked as a journeyman before retiring after 43 years. He was a member of IBEW Local 576. Billy enjoyed fishing and hunting – especially deer hunting. He liked to watch football and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. His family was his pride and joy.

Billy was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Cook; parents, Buell & Claudia Cook; brother, Ronald Cook; and stepson, Steven Connella.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Hattie “Chinky” Cook of Florien, LA; son, Steven Cook of Florien; daughter, Katherine Aras of Bridge City, TX; stepson, Clifford Connella of Florien; stepdaughters, Mary “Susie” Cleveland of Lineville, AL and Karen Connella of Florien; brother, Robert “Bobby” Cook of Pineville, LA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; and extended family members.
