Rex Wright

Rex Wright passed away peacefully at his home November 26, 2022 at the age of 67.

He was married to his high school sweetheart for 49 ½ years and had three children Scottie, Kalli, and Brent. He was a life long resident of Sabine Parish, a proud patriot, and a MHS alumni, class of ’73. He was a faithful offshore production employee for Chevron/ Texaco for 37 ½ years, upon retirement he spent his time working in his prized garden, traveling to new places and helping coach Sabine Peewee football. He was an avid Many Tigers fan! He was a good friend to many and enjoyed helping all those who asked and loved his title of being PawPaw Rex to his granddaughter.

Rex is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Wright and Doris McDonald Wright.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Cindy; his children; only and well loved grandchild, Brynn; his brother Rocky Wright (Nancy), and sister Rebecca Hauser (Steve); brother in-law Cory Lewing (Melanie); and a host of nieces, nephews, many extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, He was very avid in donating to worthy causes: American Cancer Society, Baptist Children’s Home, MHS Alumni Association, and Gideons.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Many. Visitation will begin 12:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be: John Wayne McCormic, Harlan Leach, Cory Lewing, Timm McCormic, Scottie Wright, Brent Wright, Tommie Joe Andries, and Greg Yokel.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kalli Wright, Brynn Wright, Melanie Lewing, and Cherryl Meshell.
