William “Richard” Lollar, III

A Life of Service and Honor William “Richard” Lollar III, a veteran of the Vietnam War and longtime resident of Zwolle, LA, passed away on July 23, 2022, with his loving wife, Dianne Dill Lollar, by his side, after a battle with cancer. Richard was born December 19, 1944, to William “Dick” and Hilda Walden Lollar in Shreveport, LA and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1963. He attended Northeast Louisiana State College for two years, then enlisted in the US Air Force at the height of the Vietnam War. When Richard returned home after his tour in 1969, he married his devoted sweetheart and wife of 53 years, Dianne.

Richard was a heavy equipment mechanic and in Transportation, until he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1990 with 24 years of service at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA. After his father, Dick passed away in 1996, Richard moved his family back home to live on a lake he and his father loved Toledo Bend. Richard was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed every day of 25 years living lakeside.

Richard leaves behind his wife, Dianne, two children, Paige Lollar Ezernack and husband James, Mitchell Blake Lollar and wife Kelley, six grandchildren (Dylan, Alli, Jacob, Nolan, Ty, and Avery), one great-grandchild (Sadie), his sister Carolyn Simmons and husband Mike, and many friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, from 5-7p at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA. We have planned a graveside service on Thursday, July 28, at 10 am, at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Richard’s name.
