Funeral Services for Nellie Cook, 91, of Florien, LA, will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Florien, LA with Rev. Matt Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Florien Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 9:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Florien, LA.

Nellie H. Cook was born on Monday, May 18, 1931 in Florien, LA. She passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at The Chateaus at Montclaire in Shreveport, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Cook, Sr., her parents, Willie Homer and Lurena D. Hopkins; her brothers, Malcolm B. Hopkins, Robert J. Hopkins and Willard H. Hopkins; her sister Ruth Hopkins; her son Jimmie W. Cook and granddaughter, Chelsea Cook.

She is survived by her sons, Michael L. Cook and wife Diane R. of Saraland, AL; and James R. Cook, Jr. and wife Lisa P. of Shreveport, LA.; daughter, Gwenda C. Jones of Florien, LA; sister, Joanne H. Pickett of Many, LA; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
