Norma Downing Rose

Funeral services for Norma Downing Rose, 90, of Many, LA, will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Many with Rev. Ray Spiller officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 5:30 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many, LA.

Norma Downing Rose was born on Thursday, September 24, 1931 in Jackson, MS. She passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Byrd Hospital in Leesville, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil S. Downing and Flora Eva (Burney) Downing; husband, Robert C. Rose, Jr.; sister, Flora Ann Reno; and three brothers: Virgil Downing Jr., Dan Downing and Albert Downing.

She is survived by her three daughters: Virgina Rose Burkett and husband Don of Many, LA, Diane Rose of Houston, TX and Debbie Rose of Many, LA; three grandchildren: Stephen Van Sickle and wife Jessica of Natchitoches, LA, Christiana Cook and husband Chris of Lafayette, LA and Caleb Burkett and wife Maegan of Many, LA; seven great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers: Don Burkett, Caleb Burkett, Stephen Van Sickle, Scotty Woodcock, Chris Cook and Griffin Van Sickle.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Holder and the staff at Sabine Medical Center along with Dr. John Mercke and the staff at Byrd Regional Hospital, especially the kind nursing staff at both hospital’s.
