Doyle Jennings

Funeral Services for Doyle Jennings will be held at Jennings Chapel Congregational Methodist Church, in Marthaville, Louisiana on Saturday, June 25th at 2pm. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation prior to the service will be from 10am – 12pm in the sanctuary.

Doyle Jennings was born on May 26, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Mamie and Angus Jennings. In the early morning hours of June 21, 2022, he passed away at his earthly home to be with The Lord and his Heavenly Family. He was 84 years old. He is now eternal.

Doyle will be remembered as a devoted Servant of the Lord, husband, father, grandfather, Air-Force veteran, golfer, pilot, writer, harmonizer, musician, animal lover, history-buff, and amateur genealogist. After serving in the U.S. Air-Force reserves for over 30 years, he worked for the Louisiana state park system as an interpretive ranger at Rebel State Historic Site and Marksville State Historic Site. He was generous and caring, full of joy and integrity.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his sons Allen, Paul and Scott Smith, his daughter Jennifer Webster, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Angus Everest, Kenneth, Murdoch, and Lyvon, and his sisters Roma and Rachel, his daughter Roxann Sexton, son Jeffery Smith, and his parents, Mamie and Angus.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
