Joyce Jones, loving mother of six, grandmother of eleven, and a host of great-grandchildren, was called home on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at the age of 90.

Joyce Faye Crim was born at home in Port Arthur, Texas on November 22, 1931. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Joyce was known as a very hardworking mother. She worked frequently from open to close at Garan, TG&Y, and finally retiring from Walmart in Many, Louisiana. She had a passion for music; specifically fiddle, gospel, and bluegrass. She was also enthusiastically devoted to her second children, her fur babies. She enjoyed riding to view old and antebellum homes restored with porches that would wrap around the entire house. Joyce loved to drink coffee, listen to music, and garden in her yard with her rose bushes, 4 o’ clocks, and morning glories. She enjoyed the company of her dogs and watching the birds and flowers. She had a deep faith and saw God in all his creation. She was blessed and was a blessing to all she knew. She was known for a quick wit and a compassionate spirit.

Joyce was preceded in death by her mother, Flora Bell Crim; father, Earl Rondo Crim; sisters, Florence Morris and Louise Hebert; and daughter-in-law, Mary O. Moore. She is survived by her sister, Florene Johnson of Lumberton, Texas; children, David Moore of Minden; Sandra Moore of Haughton; Angela Johnson and husband Bill of Florien; Randell Merritt of Beaux Bridge, Louisiana; Ruth Hippler and husband David of Many; and Sharon Walden and husband Dickie of Shreveport; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Beulah Baptist Church-Hwy 191 on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, with burial to follow at Beulah Cemetery. Officiating the service was Bro. Kenneth Leach. Honoring Joyce as pallbearers were David Hippler, Roger Koss, Bryan Dickerson, Bill Johnson, Jeremiah Gosnell, and Joe Olgetree. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Samual Koss and Brenton Dickerson. Flowers or donations may be sent to Rose-Neath Funeral home in Many, Louisiana.
