Mary Virginia LeBlanc Lehr

Mary Lehr, 88, of Zwolle, LA went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 6, 2022 at Sabine Rehabilitation and Retirement Center. She was born on March 3rd of 1934 in Abbeville, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Lehr, her grandparents, Martel and Josephine LeBlanc and Jean Félix and Onesia Broussard, her parents Jean Ozar and Maude Marie LeBlanc. Additionally, she was preceded in death by siblings, J.O LeBlanc, Marjorie LeBlanc, Charles LeBlanc, William LeBlanc, and Albert LeBlanc. Also, preceding her in death was her beloved Godmother Mrs. Ruby Broussard of Abbeville.

Her wake will be held at Warren Meadows Funeral Home at 1018 Obrie Street in Zwolle Louisiana on Sunday April 10th at 4:00 PM for family and 5:00 PM for friends and guests. The Rosery will begin at 6:00 PM. Her services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 1:00 PM followed by burial at Bayou Scie Cemetery on Highway 120 in Zwolle.

She is survived by sister Jeanne LeBlanc and partner Jean Elizabeth, of Connecticut. daughters Diane Neel (Ronald) of Many, LA, Phyllis Lehr of Zwolle, Louisiana, and Stephanie Cutright of Thibodaux, Louisiana. Her grandchildren include Jonathan Neel, (Page) of Many, LA, Mary Cutright of Thibodaux, and E.J. Cutright, (Alasha) of Lake Charles, LA. She is also survived by her are precious great-grandchildren, Kellen, Karter, and Ervin V.

She attended schools in Abbeville, Morgan City, and college at Southwestern in Lafayette. She met her future husband, James while attending college. After marriage, they lived in San Diego, California where he was stationed with the U.S. Navy for several years. After his tour of duty, they returned to live out their lives with their children in Zwolle, LA.

She enjoyed her time with family and friends, always looking forward to the next time together. She continued to stay active in church events and activities at both St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Zwolle and St. John the Baptist, in Many. She enjoyed reading, listening to music, baking cakes and always enjoyed a good glass of Iced Tea. Her working years were spent as a paraprofessional in classrooms in Zwolle Intermediate and Zwolle Elementary School, where she worked with students with disabilities. She treasured many happy memories of those years.

The family would like to thank Patsy Miller for her dedicated care for her at home for the last year. She was devoted and loving in those times together. Also, they would like to thank Lagniappe Home Health Care with nurses, Lee Eason and Kim Davis for the support and professional care they provided and friendship they shared. Additionally, the family wants to thank Dr. William Luster and the staff of Louisiana Extended Care of Natchitoches for their attentiveness to her needs and support of her health. We would like to thank Hospice of Natchitoches and Sabine for their guidance and support of her in her last days. Finally, the family would like to thank Sabine Rehabilitation and Retirement for giving her such a peaceful place to spend her last days.

Family and friends who would like to remember her in a special way may donate to one of the three churches she attended in her lifetime.
