Dottie Faye Thaxton

Funeral services for Dottie Thaxton, 88, of Florien, were held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Freeman, Rev. John Lewing II and Rev. Dennis Bignar officiating. Burial followed in the Middle Creek Cemetery.

Dottie Thaxton was born on Sunday, October 15, 1933 in Peason, Louisiana. She passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her residence in Florien. Dot graduated from Mount Carmel in1953 and married Harvey Samuel in May of 1953.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Thaxton; parents, Otis and Sylvie Westfall; sister, Geneva Bell and brother-in-law Bobbie Joe; brother, Charlie Westfall; and sister-in-law Pat and Maurice Westfall and sister-in-law, Janice Westfall; and nephew, Scotty Bell.

She is survived by her children: Jimmy Thaxton and wife Eylda G. and Neil Thaxton and wife Becky; grandchildren: Kylene Faye, Tyler Joe and wife Erica, Bradley and wife Katie; great grandchildren: Jace, Sam, Audrey, and Silas; sister, Elaine Canady and husband Charles of Lumberton, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers: Tyler Thaxton, Bradley Thaxton, Willie Jones, Brandon Jones, Dustin Bell, and Brady Bell

Honorary Pallbearers: Kylene Thaxton, Audrey Thaxton, Silas Thaxton, Jace Thaxton, Sam Thaxton, Derick LeFeat, and Landon Bell.
