Dr. David Horner, devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, friend, and child of God, passed away on, Wednesday, February 23, 2022 after a difficult journey with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Throughout his illness he sustained comfort and courage through his faith in God. His generosity, drive, selflessness, and faith persisted to the end of his time with us. With a keen mind, indomitable sense of humor, love for family and community, Dr. Horner served his patients to the very end. It was his life’s work to be first a humble servant of God, serving his family, his church, and community.

Dr. Horner exhibited the tenants of faith, family, and community. A member of First Baptist Church of Many, where he served as a longtime member of the church choir and deacon body. A member of Masonic Lodge, Many 411. And a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Born in Dyer, TN January 24, 1951 to Howard and Maxine Horner. He graduated from Savannah High School, in Savannah TN in 1969. After completing coursework at his beloved University of Tennessee, he would graduate from Life Chiropractic College in 1978. 40 plus years of dedication to the heath of the communities of Lake Charles, LA (14 yrs) and Many, LA (30 yrs).

Dr. Horner was preceded in death by his father Thomas Howard Horner; mother Maxine Hill Horner; and daughter Kimberly Ann Miller. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Becky Horner; daughter Kyla Horner; son Lance Horner (Bethany), son-in-law Roger Miller, grandson Dillon Miller; brother Frank Horner (Mary) and a host of extended family members.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Many with Rev. Bo Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at 5:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Many.

Pallbearers will be: Paul Morris, Mark Jordan, Clauriste Byles, Jr., Robby Lang, Johnny DeWitt and Phillip Roark.
