Mary Lene Lawrence

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mary Lene Lawrence, 92, of Many, were held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Cyle Clayton officiating. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery.

Mary Lene Lawrence was born on Saturday, June 1, 1929 in Dirago, Kentucky. She went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 14, 2022, with her daughter Marilyn by her side.

Mary Lene was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served in the nursery, taught Sunday School, Bible School, and baked many goodies for church fellowships. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cooking for her family, nurturing her garden, writing letters to family and friends and watching Hallmark movies.

Her sweet sprit was a welcomed treat as people entered K&W Clothing Store where Mary Lene helped Mike and Marilyn Nichols serve the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elroy and Vergie (Hawkins) McKinney; husband, Robert Eugene Lawrence; daughter, Shirley Lawrence Britt; sisters, Josephine Shearer; Virginia England; Gertie Hamilton; and her bother, Johnny McKinney.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Nichols and husband Mike of Many; son, Gary Lawrence and wife Becky of Calhoun, Louisiana; sister, Jessaphine Donan of Burkesville, Kentucky; brother, Fallis Dean McKinney and wife Sue of Burkesville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Jody Britt; Chad Britt; Lee Britt; Audrey Lawrence; Lyndsey Lawrence; and Kirsten Lawrence; seven great grandchildren, Madeline Britt; Emily Britt; Jake Britt; Caleb Britt; Isaac Britt; Avery Britt; and Nora Britt; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers were Jody Britt, Chad Britt, Lee Britt, Caleb Britt, Jake Britt and Mike Nichols.

Honorary Pallbearers were Benny Funderburk and David Barnhill.
