Funeral services for Ellen M. Maxey, 71, of Zwolle, LA, will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Zwolle with Rev. Jerry Penfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Zwolle Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Zwolle LA.

Ellen M. Maxey was born on Sunday, January 8, 1950 in Pineville, LA. She passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Many Health Care North in Many, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbie Martin and Agnes (Bynog) Martin; foster parents, Robert and Clopha Coffey; brothers, James Martin, Donnie Max Coffey and Alvin Martin and her sister, Bobbie Lee.

She is survived by her husband, David Wayne Maxey of Zwolle, LA; daughter, Jennifer Martinez and husband Kenneth Martinez, Sr. of Zwolle, LA; son, Timothy Wayne Maxey and wife Heena of Little Elm, TX; sisters, Rebecca Smith of Tyler, TX, Wanda Robinette and husband David of Bossier City, LA and Jeanette Martin of Columbia, MS; grandchildren: Robert Garcie, Kenneth Martinez, Jr., Karley Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Pari Maxey and Rohan Maxey; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers: Ronnie Bison, James (Speedy) Bison, Dennis McGaha, James Hubbard, Robert Garcie and Shelton Eaves.

Honorary pallbearers: Kenneth Martinez, Sr., Kenneth Martinez, Jr., Joseph Martinez.
