Bobby Slaydon Jr., 56, of Florien entered eternal rest on Friday, November 12th, 2021. A celebration of Bobby’s life was held on November 15th, 2021, at The Life Church in Many with a graveside service to follow.

Bobby was born on December 12th, 1964, in Merryville, Louisiana to loving parents Bobby Slaydon Sr. and Shirley Slaydon. Awaiting Bobby in Heaven were his father Bobby Slaydon Sr. and father-in-law Donald P. Anthony. Bobby will earnestly await for his loving bride of 25 years, Karen Anthony Slaydon. His children, sons Logan Slaydon and wife Meagan; Jacob McComic, wife Valerie and grandson Jace; Nicholas Slaydon and partner Cassidy Crist. Mother Shirley Slaydon; brother, Kevin Slaydon and wife Cindy; sister, Anna Pollock and husband Troy; Mother-in-law, Linda Wilbanks; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bobby was a 1982 graduate of Merryville high school who continued his education as a proud McNeese State Cowboy. He went on to a dedicated career serving his community in various rural healthcare roles. In Bobby’s free time he could be found cheering on his favorite sport teams, hunting whitetail deer, playing music, working out at the gym, watching The Andy Griffith Show, or napping in his recliner. While his hobbies brought him joy, nothing compared to his cherished quality time with his wife, children, and grandson. Family was the center of his universe in which his every action revolved around, his proudest titles were Husband, Dad, Uncle, and PePaw. Bobby was a lifelong servant of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ, beginning his walk with Christ at the young age of 7. A cornerstone in his beloved church, fervent prayer warrior and dedicated disciple Bobby was able to reach and win countless souls for the Heavenly Kingdom. He will forever be remembered to many as the light who shone into their dark times. His infectious laugh, authentic kindness, and love for life will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Honoring Bobby as pallbearers were Logan Slaydon, Jacob McComic, Nicholas Slaydon, Cory Clifton, Kevin Slaydon, and Ben Kennedy. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Greg Crain, Monte Davis, Greg Goins, Mark Smith, Jerry Wayne Manasco, Kip DeLatin, Beckham Kennedy, Stanley Cook, Randy Hardy and Luke Trim.
