Funeral services for Lloyd H. Ford, 78, of Belmont, were held December 30 at Union Baptist Church in Belmont with the Reverends Dean Johnson, Glen Howard and John Lewing II officiating. Burial followed in the Old Pisgah Cemetery.

He was born on Monday, April 29, 1940 in Converse, and passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Natchitoches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lovette Veddette Ford and Lee Virgie Litton Ford; brother, Lee Veddette Ford; and his mother and father-in law, L. B. Evitt and Lessie Evitt.

Lloyd was a deacon at Union Baptist Church where he served his Lord faithfully for many years. He served on the Belmont Water District Board. Lloyd also enjoyed raising cattle and tending to his farm with is favorite cur dog, Hannah. He loved catfishing at the family pond, hunting in West Texas, watching FOX News, drinking coffee on the front porch and listening to Blue Grass Music. His greatest joy was following his girls around as they played sports.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn Evitt Ford of Belmont; son, Bradley Evitt Ford and wife, Crystal Sattler Ford, of Belmont; sister, Maudie Hodge of Quarte Hill, California; brother, Floyd Ford and wife, Rita Webster Ford, of Converse; sister-in-law, Ruby Mobley Ford of Converse; he was a proud PaPaw to Brooke Arbuckle and husband, Micah, of Baton Rouge, Emily Ford and Adam Nelson of Belmont, and Camryn Ford of Belmont; his precious great granddaughter, Sophie Katherine Arbuckle; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers were Micah Arbuckle, Adam Nelson, Chris Williams, Randy Byrd, Steve Green, Rodney Arbuckle, Richard Isgitt and Karl Stephens.

Honorary Pallbearers were C. B. Leatherwood, Stanley Sattler, Perry Sattler, Ronny Richardson, Jerry Martin, Gerald Early, Carlton Salley and Billy Frank Howard.
