Funeral services for Margaret Marilyn McCormic Goss, 87, of Many were held May 16 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church with Father Norsworthy officiating. Burial followed in the St. John The Baptist Catholic Cemetery. She was born Thursday, October 23, 1930 in Sabine Parish to Louis McCormic and Josephine “Jodi” DeLatin McCormic. She passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 in Many.Marilyn worked for many years at the drug store in Many, where she became famously known as “Pete.” She was a loving woman, and a giving farmer, hunter and fisherwoman. She and her husband Bill, raised many heads of cattle together. She was a fantastic cook and shared her gift with all her family and friends, as well as her fresh vegetables from her garden. Everyone loved her food. She loved animal and had many different pets throughout the years, including squirrels, turkeys, cows, cats and she especially loved her dogs. She was a woman of many talents; she could play any sport and pick up any instrument and play it by ear. Once a month she and her sisters, Cleta and Betty, would sing hymns at the nursing home in Many, where she played the guitar. She was lovingly called “Auntie” by her many nieces and nephews. She loved each and every one of them as her own children and grandchildren and they loved her in return. She taught them everything she knew and loved including how to drive, milking a cow, hunting and fishing. She taught them how to be resourceful, to be strong, to give, and to love one another. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fred, Dick, J.B. infant Nicholas, Lindy, Kenneth, and infant Joseph; and sisters, Cleta Anderson, Marie Canton, and Betty Lites.She is survived by her husband, B. W. “Bill” Goss of Many; her fur baby, Ruff; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.Online condolences may be made to the family at www.warrenmeadows.com
