David K. Ellzey

Funeral Services for David K. Ellzey, 63, of Zwolle were held February 7 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry W Penfield officiating. Burial followed in the Central Cemetery. Ellzey was born on Sunday, October 11, 1953 in Natchitoches Parish. He passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 in Robeline. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orvis “O.W.” Ellzey and Dorris Royston Ellzey. David was a long-time employee in the Information Technology Dept. of Georgia Pacific Paper Co. in Crossett, Arkansas. His favorite passtimes were fishing regardless of the weather, bowling, and spending time at his camp in the river bottoms of SE Arkansas. After retiring he moved back to his childhood home in Robeline. He loved the outdoors and spent lots of time gardening, deer hunting and growing pine trees. Once moving to Zwolle, fishing once again became his primary recreation. Everywhere he went he was usually accompanied by his faithful squirrel dog, PJ. He loved to visit with others and never met a stranger, striking up conversations with many as he traveled around. His love of travel took him many places in the US. He will be greatly missed by family and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, the Rev. Kathy Rials Ellzey of Zwolle; step-son, Jeremy Fullerton of Robeline; step-daughter, Jennifer Fullerton Lambert and husband, Bradley, of Florien; granddaughter, Katelyn Bird of Zwolle; special granddaughter, Haley Weathy of Zwolle; special grandsons, Michael Weathy, Jr. and Tyler Weathy, both of Zwolle; sister, Mary Anne Russell and husband, Stan, of Zwolle; brothers, Bill Ellzey and wife, Lynn, of Houma and Mark Ellzey and wife, Debbie, of Hammond; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Jeremy Fullerton, Stan Russell, Adam Barnard, Nyle Parcham, Allen Rials and Don Rials Honorary pallbearers were Mark Ellzey and Bill Ellzey In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rivers of Water Church, P.O.
