Remembering When. . .

by Lola RussellYesterday on Sunday morning, July 16, I attended the 125th homecoming celebration of Aimwell Baptist Church on Toledo Bend lake. I united with that membership in the early 1970s as we were there every weekend and I knew the importance of bringing up my little boy in church. In order to get there in plenty of time to be able to meet and reet former members as they came in the front door, I set my alarm to go off at 4:30 a.m. I was ready and pacing the floor when the children picked me up two hours later. I was so anxious to see friends that I hadn’t seen in a long time. I didn’t plan to stay for the meal so I had to do all the visiting I could before the services began. There was a whole lot of hugging going on.
