Benson, LA – Funeral services honoring the life of Billy Ray Jackson, 82, were held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield. Burial followed in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Noble. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield from 5 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Billy Ray Jackson was born November 2, 1931 in Springhill to James Chesley and Tishie Hagan Jackson. He graduated from Rocky Mount High School. Billy Ray served our country in the Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Nathalene  Anderson, daughter of Jim and Rena Anderson, and had four children that were the light of his life and was so proud of each of them. Billy Ray also cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren while gardening, hunting and fishing. Preceding Billy Ray in death are his father and mother; sister, Sarah Lou Jackson Merritt; and granddaughter, Rosebud Hitt. Those left behind to cherish Billy Ray’s memory are his wife of 59 years Nathalene “Nat” Anderson Jackson; daughters, Pinky Hitt and husband, Paul and Nelda Deacon and husband, Kevin; sons, Ray Jackson and wife, Irene and Mickey Jackson; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; special pet Boo Boo; special niece Tracey Antee and other nieces in Baton Rouge; several cousins; and a host of friends scattered over the world. Honoring the life of Billy Ray as pallbearers were grandchildren, Dustin Hitt, Waco Hitt, Travis Hitt, Dillan Hitt, Brian Deacon, Kevin Deacon, Candy Wolgamott, Nikki Deacon, Billy Jackson, and  Russell Antee. Honorary pallbearer will be Deacon Parchman. The family would like to express a special thanks to the CNAs and Nurses of Garden Park Nursing and Rehab Center; and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice.
