Funeral services for Travis L. Evans, Sr. 74, of Florien, were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at the Harmony
Cove Baptist in Florien. Burial followed in the Clearwater Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral
Home of Leesville. Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, from 6 p.m. until time of service at the church. Travis, the son of Clarence Leroy and Lola Travis Evans was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Dess. He passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, in Many. Mr. Evans was a United States Army veteran. He formerly served on the District 8 Baptist Association, was
a Sunday School director, served on the Toledo Bend Baptist Mission Board and was a Sunday School Superintendent for Harmony Cove Baptist Church. He was also a Mason in the Negreet Masonic Lodge. He was a truck driver having worked for Patrick Miller Tractor Co. and Dewitt Oil Company. He also owned and operated Rocking E Trucking. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud Evans and Ernest Evans. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sally Evans of Florien; sons, Travis Evans, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Kenefick, TX, and Tim Evans, Sr., and wife, Jennifer, of Noble;  daughters, Darlene Buckaloo and husband, Buck, of Baytown, TX, and Dian Woolcock and husband, Scott, of  Richmond, TX; brothers, Earl Evans and wife, Linda, of New Caney, TX and Carl Evans of Shreveport; sister, Ernestine Belsha of Florien, sister-in-law, Betty Evans of Many; special niece, Amanda McEwen; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
