Graveside services honoring the life of Jerry Alvin Sanders, 58,were held May 26 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill with the Rev. Joe Farrister officiating. Jerry was born on August 29, 1957 in Converse, to Fred and Corrine Smith Sanders and passed away on May 22, 2016 in Denham Springs. Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, Fred Sanders, Sr. and Corrine Sanders Blankenship and stepson Patrick “Tommy” Broadway. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Angel Sanders Covington of Denham Springs, Robin Sanders and DJ Shoalmire of Denham Springs; brothers, Fred Sanders, Jr. and wife, Delia, of Cameron, Oliver Ray Sanders of Pleasant Hill, David Sanders and wife, Margaret, of Gonzales, and Terry Sanders and wife, Tami, of Walker; step-brother, Dennis Blankenship and wife, Becky, of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, Matthew Sanders, Adam Covington, Kaden Sanders, and Ryland Shoalmire; son-in-law, Bryan Covington; eight nieces and nephews, and his beloved niece Allison Sanders.
