Susan R. Chance was born September 26, 1954, in New Brunswick, New Jersey and woke up in the arms of Jesus on May 19, 2016. Funeral services were held May 23 at Prewitt’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Reverends Hoy Leach, Nick Hilton and Dean Crittenden officiating. Burial followed in the Prewitt Chapel Cemetery. Susan resided in Hornbeck and was a dedicated homemaker. In Susan’s later years, she loved nothing more than to spoil her grandchildren and spend her days crafting. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Irene Robison; nephews, Trent, Kody, and Quistó Chance; brother-in-law, Joseph Chance; sister-in-law, Sharon Chance and her mother-in-law and father-in-law the Rev. Leroy and Joyce Chance. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years, Carl Chance of Hornbeck; son, Donny Pickard of The Dalles, Oregon; daughters, Brandy Alford and husband, Thomas, of Florien, Heather Hollan and husband, Kris, of Lake Charles; six grandsons, who were the light of her life, Lane and Logan Alford, Gabriel and Chance Hollan, Elias Pickard, and Sidney Ordoyne along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Honored to be her pallbearers were her sons-in-law, Thomas Alford and Kris Hollan, her nephews, Justin and Colby Chance and her, grandsons Lane and Logan Alford.
