Funeral Services for Gene Crabtree, 80, formerly of Many, was held on December 22 at Beulah Baptist Church in Many. Burial followed in the Beulah Cemetery. Gene Crabtree was born on February 11, 1935 in Slat, Kentucky. He passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Summerville, South Carolina. Mr. Crabtree retired from Trunkline Gas Company in Longville and formerly Ambia, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hamp and Della Garner Crabtree; his first wife and mother of his daughters, Shirley Hopkins Crabtree; his second wife, Wanda Hebert Welch; daughter, Becky Crabtree Knox and brother, O’Dell Crabtree. He is survived by his daughter, Shelley and husband, Thom Farrell of Summerville, South Carolina; step-sons, Gary and wife, Margie Welch of DeRidder, Mike and wife, Carol Welch, of DeQuincy, Don and wife, Renee Welch of Ragley and Ronnie and wife, Regina Welch of Rice, Texas; sister, Doris Collings; brothers, Bill and wife, Barb Crabtree and Robert and wife, Carol Crabtree; sister-in-law, Dolores Crabtree; 19 step grandchildren; 38 step great grandchildren; 1 step great-great grandchild as well as numerous other extended relatives and close friends.
