Many trio named first-team all-state

A trio of Many juniors who were pivotal to the success of the top-ranked Tigers and their trip to the Class 2A finals at  Mercedes- Benz Superdome in New Orleans have been rewarded with all-state recognition by a panel of the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Xavier Dias, Garrett Thomas and Pepi Kennedy were all chosen first-team all-state on the

Victim in law enforcement shoot-out dies

A 27-year-old Noble man, who was critically wounded in an afternoon shoot-out on Saturday, Nov. 16 by a La. State Trooper
and two deputies from the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office, has died. Michael Anthony Malmay died Thursday, Dec. 12 at LSU
Medical Center in Shreveport.

Many Christmas Parade to draw large crowds

The Christmas lanterns are hanging on San Antonio Ave.; colorful lights line most of the business awnings and rooftops.
Churches are planning plays, live nativity scenes and community caroling. Homes are being adorned with yard displays,
wreaths and lights. Blow up Santas and snowmen are spotted in neighborhood yards.

Many Christmas Parade dedicated to memory of Rosalind Wright

The Many Christmas Parade, to be hosted on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m., will be dedicated to the memory of Rosalind Wright, according to Gay Corley, parade chairman. Wright, a longtime employee of Many City Hall, died Oct. 26, 2013, following a long battle with lung cancer. She played a key role in revitalizing the annual Christmas parade and activities. Even after she retired, she came back to help with the annual festivities. She was honored to serve as Grand Marshall of the parade in 2002.

Kim B. Kendrick arrested for attempted 2nd degree murder

Kim B. Kendrick, 47, of Logansport was arrested by the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Dept. on Friday, Nov. 22 after she allegedly shot her husband, Matthew Britt Lewis of Marshall, Texas. Ironically, the incident stemmed from an argument on Tranquilty Lane in Zwolle around 7:36 p.m. The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call and responded to the emergency off Hwy. 1215. Upon arrival they found that Matthew B. Lewis had been shot in the face with a .357 revolver. Also responding were North Sabine Fire District First Responders and Med-Express.
