Funeral services for Hershell Lynn Freeman, 63, of Shreveport were held May 18 at Rockett- Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Hall officiating. Interment followed in Lambertown Cemetery in Robeline. Mr. Freeman was born April 26, 1953 in Jonesboro and passed away May 15, 2016. In his earlier years, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to be who cared more for others than for himself. He also loved the Lord with all his heart. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Charles H. Freeman; brothers, Charles Roy Freeman and Gary Wayne Freeman and one sister, Joy Ann Johns. He is survived by his daughter, Kristy Marie Freeman of Shreveport; son, Michael Shane Freeman of Pineland, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Aaron Hopkins, Katelynn Danielle Hopkins, Karagan Lee Hopkins and Alexander Gage Freeman; mother, Jean G. Freeman of Lake End; brother, Marvin Louis Freeman of Robeline; sister, Nelda Jean Putek of Lake End; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends and mother of his children, Vickie Lynn Haiman of Pineland, Texas. Pallbearers were John Putek, Christopher Hopkins, Charles Sheppard, Matthew Bynog, Jimmy Putek, and Justin Hopkins. Honorary pallbearers were Rodney Goodrow and Oscar Teasley.
