“I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy; Yankee Doodle do or die!”

I am a patriotic gal, who dearly loves the red, white and blue.

At an early age, my father taught me to always respect the flag by placing my hand over my heart when it passed by. Patriotism was part of growing up in a U.S. Marine Corps family.

Patchwork

The hurrier I go, the behinder I get. I am getting so darned forgetful lately that I end up laughing at myself.

I was in a long conversation with my eldest son, Davy, as he drove home from his job in northwest Arkansas. We chatted about this and that and suddenly I couldn’t remember where I’d laid down my cell-phone. I walked all around the house, looking on end tables, the coffee table, the dining room table, the island in the kitchen…..the list goes on. I even looked in the laundry room, since I had been in there putting laundered towels into the dryer earlier.
