Louisiana 4-H held a banquet at Louisiana State University’s Lod Cook Alumni Center on June 19 to honor 4-H youth scholarship recipients, donors, alumni and volunteers.

Honored that night was Sarah Jones of Sabine parish as the Louisiana 4-H’s Salute to Excellence Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer. For fourteen years, Sarah Jones served as a club leader at Belmont Union Christian Academy. The club started out with around ten kids and grew to 20 to 25 depending on the year. This was the only extracurricular activity at the school. She had 100% participation in Cloverbuds from the school and 95% participated in Junior Leaders. Most years, she averaged 95% participation at Achievement Day which then became known as Spring Fling. At one point, the club from BUCA was the largest group at the parish wide activities.
