The Orphan Train Museum, located in Opelousas, gathered artifacts, books, and interesting photos on Tuesday, July 29 and headed to Many for a presentation.
Almost 50 local residents gathered in the fellowship hall of the First United Methodist Church. The Sabine Parish Library hosted the event. Others aiding in spreading the word included Tedd Dumas of KWLV Radio, Dean Lambert, and the Sabine Parish Library.
Martha Aubert, president of the Orphan Train Museum, and James Douget, who works at the museum, presented an interesting program, answering questions and showing a short movie. Various items were displayed on tables. Following the presentation, questions and answers ended the program.
Aubert also displayed a variety of books that could be purchased. She gifted librarian Jodi Cook with several books for the library.
