The Kiwanis Club of Sabine (KCS) is a non-profit, international organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Their vision is that Kiwanis will positively influence communities worldwide so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them, and provide the support they need to thrive. The Club motto is serving children of the world.

KCS has an ongoing signature project at SPARK school and rewards students who have met their behavioral and academic goals for the month with activities that are both fun and educational. KCS members and volunteers mentor students and give talks on effective communication & listening skills, healthy lifestyles, and making good choices. The Club also provides the necessary materials to do flower gardening in containers or painting pumpkins, holiday bingo, baking cookies, making popcorn balls or caramel apples, along with other seasonal activities. Grants and donations help the club with these activities.

KCS also has a growing monthly Terrific Kid (TK) project in four elementary schools in the parish. Each teacher pick 1 or 2 students in their classroom who have met their goals in grades K-4, submits the names to a KCS member who then prepares certificates suitable for framing along with a free admission pass for the 2026 season at Wildwood Resort-Family Adventure Waterpark in Zwolle, and a coupon for a free personal pan pizza and drink from Pizza Hut in Many. These two local businesses have been faithful partners with KCS for the past 2 years and the program continues to gain momentum and one day club members hope to have a TK club in every elementary school in the parish.

Many and Negreet High School students whose names are drawn monthly from their PBIS reward buckets are also rewarded with free admission passes to the Family Adventure Waterpark along with a free pizza and drink from Pizza Hut.

New members and/ or volunteers are always needed for outreach at local events throughout the year in the parish, and you can find more information on the Kiwanis Club of Sabine Facebook page. You can also send an email with questions to suzannewilliams05@ gmail or dawnleone@bellsouth.net if you would like to help make a difference in the lives of the youth of Sabine Parish.
