The Sabine Parish Tourist Commission, working alongside local communities, festivals, and event organizers, is launching a parish-wide celebration in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. Known as Celebrating America: 250 Years in the Making, the initiative is designed to bring people together throughout Sabine Parish to reflect on the nation’s history while showcasing the traditions and culture that define the area.

During 2026, the Sabine Parish America 250 Committee and its community sponsors will present a lineup of commemorative events, including a July 4th celebration with fireworks, multiple live concerts, parades, historical reenactments, a community time capsule project, and other special programs. Events will be free or available at minimal cost and will be open to the public.

The celebration will unfold throughout the year, beginning with a kickoff event on January 31 at Fort Jesup Historic Site in Many, La and continuing with additional activities and programs planned for February, March, May, June, July and September. Each event is designed to highlight different aspects of America’s story while reflecting the heritage, traditions, and community pride found across Sabine Parish, offering residents and visitors meaningful opportunities to come together and enjoy these shared moments of celebration.

These events are made possible through the support of our sponsors: Toledo Bend Lake Association, Sabine River Authority, DT Midstream, Treaty Oak Clean Energy, NextEra Energy, Atmos Energy, Cane River National Heritage Area, Sabine State Bank, Veterans of Foreign Wars Zwolle Chapter, and Community Bank.
