Deputies Creg Vaughn and Devin McKenney were recognized at the graduation of the 35th class of the Bossier Sheriff’s Training Academy during a ceremony held on Friday, May 1, 2026. After successfully completing 16 weeks of intensive training, Deputies Vaughn and McKenney have earned their Louisiana P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Level 1 Certification.

Throughout the demanding program, deputies gained critical knowledge and hands-on experience necessary for today’s policing environment. Training included legal instruction, firearms qualifications, physical conditioning, use of non-lethal force, officer safety tactics, and a wide range of essential law enforcement responsibilities.

Devin McKenney was recognized with the Academic Award for having the highest grade average of the cadet class.

Captain Jesse Branam, Chief Deputy Brad Walker, Captain Jason Heard, and Deputy Greg Sculthorpe were in attendance to congratulate these deputies.

Deputies Vaughn and McKenney will be assigned to the patrol division under Captain Heard.
