Numerous Many Police Department officers and detectives were at the Regional Organized Crime Information Center (ROCIC) 33rd Annual Homicide Conference at Hilton Head, South Carolina, on October 27-30.

The conference saw officers trained on a number of different investigative techniques. According to a conference schedule, training sessions were held in generational interviewing, fatal overdose investigations, mapping a murderer through CDR and Google data analysis, unmasking a killer through digital fingerprints, misdirection by asphyxiation, homicide investigative practices, and various case studies.

“Many PD joined ROCIC two years ago due to the expansive resources provided by the organization to gather local, state, and national trends and information,” said Police Chief Cheryl Wooley. “This is just another one of our commitments to advanced and modernized training by Many PD.”

In attendance from Many PD were Reserve Officer and Deputy Doroner Brian Mattison, Detective and Sabine Parish Coroner Mark Holder, Detective James Young, and Shift Commander and Deputy Coroner Stanley Cook.

ROCIC is one of six Regional Information Sharing Systems centers, which serves thousands of law enforcement agencies throughout the southern states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
