Sheriff Aaron Mitchell reports the arrest of Tonia Claire Bass, 48, of Zwolle.

On the night of June 26, Sabine Parish Sheriff Tactical Narcotics Team Agents attempted to stop the vehicle Bass was driving near Pendleton Bridge on Highway 6 for a traffic violation. Bass refused to stop for several miles, then pulled into the Toledo Town & Tackle parking lot.

Bass was taken into custody and T.N.T. Agents noticed suspected methamphetamine scattered inside the vehicle. Agents learned Bass dissolved some methamphetamine in a drink before being stopped.

T.N.T. Agents located and seized 2.3 ounces of methamphetamine and digital measuring scale inside Bass’ vehicle.

Bass was arrested and booked into the Sabine Parish Women’s Jail for: -Possession with intent to distribute schedule II (Meth), -Possession of drug paraphernalia, -Obstruction of justice, -Flight from an officer, -Driving under suspension, -Improper lane usage, -Illegal window tint, -No insurance. Bass’ bond was set at $80,000.

T.N.T. Agent Jeriah Steinke further investigated the illegal narcotic sales activity of Bass. Agent Steinke determined Bass had been distributing methamphetamine in the LA Highway 1215 and Zwolle areas for quite some time.

Agent Steinke obtained arrest warrants for Bass for: -Distribution of

schedule II (Meth),

-2-counts of Conspiracy to distribute schedule

II (Meth), -Attempted obstruction of justice.

Bass’ bond on these charges was set at $85,000.

Bass’ total bond at this time is $165,000, she remains in jail.

This case is still under investigation and more arrests are pending.
