Jaxon Brock Foster has been named this year’s Many Christmas Parade Academic Rising Star.
Jaxon is the son of Randall & Stacye Gordon of Many and Chris & Rachelle Foster of Lake Charles, LA. He is a brother of eight siblings. Jaxon is 18 and a senior at Many High School. Jaxon is a proud Many Tiger! Jaxon has been a part of the MHS Tiger football team his entire career in high school. Jaxon will receive the Academic All-State Award in football and be recognized at the 2023 LHSAA Football State Championship at the Superdome in New Orleans. Jaxon is also a part of the MHS track and field team and will receive the Academic All-State award during the LHSAA Track and Field State Championship at LSU in Baton Rouge. The awards go to senior high school athletes with a composite GPAof 4.0.
He has excelled in academics at Many High School. He maintains a 4.0 in his high school and college courses. Jaxon is an active member of the MHS Quiz Bowl Team, reigning Sabine Parish Champions, along with FCA and BETA/National Honor Society. Jaxon has an ACT Superscore of 31. He is a top performer on all state and national test. He was able to achieve a passing score on the English CLEP Test and English Advanced Placement Test. Jaxon also participated in Literary Rally in English and Math at NSU. Jaxon was chosen to attend the American Legion Boys State Program at NSU this past summer. This program teaches young men leadership qualities that will help them succeed in the future. While at Boys State, he was elected by his peers as City Finance Officer. Jaxon had to work with other city elected officials to solve real-world problems. Jaxon said “The friends I made and the life lessons I learned at Boys State will stay with me forever”. Jaxon is an active church member at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Many. He has volunteered his to time to coach a Teeball Team for the Dixie Youth Program. Jaxon also gives back to his school and community by tutoring other students in all levels of Math.
Jaxon plans to attend Texas Christian University, majoring in Finance with a minor in Accounting. He wants to bring all the great qualities that his school and community have instilled in him to TCU!
