Get ready for a sizzling weekend of culture and cuisine as the Zwolle Tamale Fiesta returns! From Oct.12 to the 14, the charming town of Zwolle will host its 47 annual Tamale Fiesta at its festival grounds, 1100 South Main St. The Fiesta stands tall as one of Sabine Parish’s grandest traditions drawing over 15,000 visitors far and wide. With a rich blend of music, excitement, and an abundance of mouthwatering Tamales, this weekend promises unforgettable memories.

Get in the fiesta spirit ahead of the festival weekend with a trail ride on Saturday, Oct. 7. Attendees can enjoy the carnival rides and concessions as early as Wednesday, Oct. 11 when it opens at 4pm and the same time again Thursday and Friday. The festival officially begins Thursday, Oct. 12, inviting all Senior Citizens to enjoy lunch and bingo. Later that evening a Kick-off Supper will be held followed by the opening ceremonies including the presentation of Fiesta Royalty and exciting entertainment.

Friday’s events include the Third Grade Educational Day that morning followed by the opening of the Carnival. Experience the lively musical performances later in the evening by the Born to Boogie Band followed by Tommy G & Stormy Weather Band.

Saturday’s festival schedule is packed, making it fun for the entire family! The Zwolle Tamale Fiesta Parade will be a thrilling start to the day, followed by a $500 prize-winning treasure hunt and the eye-catching Toledo Cruisers Car Show. Later on, the main stage comes to life, highlighting riveting competitions like the tamale eating contest, the spirited Spanish costume contest, tamale judging, and an arm-wrestling showdown. Be sure to catch the always entertaining Mud Bog at 2:00 p.m. The Fiesta comes to a close Saturday, Oct. 14 after a night of live music by Landry & Company Band, South 70 Band and more! You don’t want to miss a beat.
