The 30th annual Powwow of the Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb will be held on April 2829 in Ebarb.

Celebrations begin on April 27 with a Native American Mass at 6 PM at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Ebarb. Father Keith Garvin will preside. The Rising Sun Youth Group and Tribal Princesses will be in full regalia and actively participate in the Eucharistic Celebration. Immediately following Mass there will be a covered dish meal in the church hall. Everyone is welcome.

Friday and Saturday will be days of Native American displays of various dances, jewelry, foods, crafts, demonstrations and displays. Native American Hoop Dancer Lynden Alec will be dancing both days. He has traveled throughout the South at various Powwows showcasing his Hoop dances. Come out and enjoy the beautiful scenery, demonstrations and a variety of foods from Native Indian tacos, fry bread , homemade cracklings, wood fried pizza, Buffalo burgers& Cheeseburgers, Smoked turkey legs, BBQ rib and Chicken plates and sandwiches, smoked brisket poboys, homemade sausage sandwiches, chicken wraps, loaded nachos, etc. While you enjoy your food, shop the vendors and listen to the beat of the drums don’t be surprised to spot an eagle or two overhead circling the Powwow grounds.
