The Toledo Bend Lake Association (TBLA) has awarded two college scholarships to area students. The 2022 Glynn Carver Memorial Scholarship for $3000 has been awarded to Lexi Ezernack of Zwolle High School. Lexi plans to attend Northwestern State University in the fall and will be studying to earn a degree in Nursing. Lexi has been active in many community and school organizations, including Beta Club, SADD, and Explorers Club. Lexi has also achieved an outstanding scholastic record.
TBLA established the Glynn Carver Memorial Scholarship in May of 2019 in recognition of the contributions that Mr. Carver made throughout his life to Toledo Bend and the surrounding communities as well as the pioneering impact that he had on the fishing industry beyond the borders of Toledo Bend.
The TBLA Board also awarded a TBLA Scholarship for outstanding achievement for $2000 to Karley Martinez of Zwolle High School. Karley plans to attend Northwestern State University and seek a degree in Nursing. Karley has been active in many community and school organizations, including 4-H, FBLA, and Girl Scouts. Karley also has an outstanding scholastic record.
