The 2022 Regular Legislative Session opened on March 14 at 12 p.m.
There are 805 prefiled bills in the House and 390 in the Senate, for a total of 1,195 pieces of legislation.
In legislative sessions that take place in even-numbered years, legislation shall not be concerned with fiscal issues. Though both chambers convene separately at noon today, Governor John Bel Edwards will hold a joint session at 1:00 p.m., where he is expected to voice his opinions and hopes for the 2022 Regular Session.
Final adjournment of the 2022 Regular Legislative will be no later than 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022.
