Saturday November 6, the Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb will host their annual Powwow and Art Fest. There will be Native dancers, food, arts & crafts, jewelry, homemade jams & jellies, etc. throughout the day.

The tribe, Dorsey Brunson’s Trail of Tears Cookbook and Danny Ebarb are sponsoring the prize money for the Wild Game Cookoff, Homemade tamale, sweet potato pie, smoked and/ or pan sausage and fry bread competitions. All these contests are open to the public.

There will also be prize money for Adult and Youth Art Contests.

At 4 p.m. the tribe will have a break and everyone is encouraged to attend the 4 p.m. Native American Mass at St Ann Catholic Church. The Heart of Kateri choir, tribal drums and local singers are coordinating the music for the celebration. Immediately following Mass the tribe will honor the Veterans and all participants with a reception in the church hall. Afterwards everyone will be invited back to the Powwow grounds for more dancing, food and opportunities to shop with our vendors.

This event is a drug and alcohol free event and is open to the public. November is Native American Heritage Month.
