This past Sunday, January 26, marked the 12th anniversary of the tragic death of Millie Lambert, 70, of Noble. She and her husband, Larry, 69, lived in the 200 block of Trinidad Drive.
Mrs. Lambert was the victim of a lone shooter who entered her home through an unlocked side door in the early evening hours of January 26, 2008.
Her husband was in the front room of the home watching television when he heard a “pop”. Thinking his wife, who had been in the kitchen and doing laundry, had dropped a dish, he walked to the back of the home. He was suddenly looking down the barrel of a rifle.
The rifle exploded, with a bullet entering his upper chest. Lambert scrambled back to the bedroom to retrieve a gun, but when he returned the shooter was exiting his home. His wife lay dead on the floor. She had been shot once in the head.
