Last week, computers at the Sabine Parish School Board and schools were stricken with malware, which necessitated a State of Emergency being declared by Gov. John Bel Edwards.

Malware can be defined as malicious software, such as a program or file, that is harmful to a computer or its user. They can be computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, or spyware.

Also falling victim to the malicious software were Morehouse Parish and city of Monroe schools.
