On March 13, leaders including John Alan Williams from the Sabine Soil and Water Conservation District in Many joined other conservation district officials from across the nation as part of the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) Spring Fly-In to advocate for locally-led conservation and adequate federal funding for conservation practices.
During their time on Capitol Hill, John Alan Williams and the Louisiana delegation met with Louisiana Congressional representatives to discuss the most significant legislative issues currently impacting conservation, including funding for crucial conservation programs through the Fiscal Year 2020 Appropriations Bill and natural resource legislation pertaining to invasive species, forestry, wild horses and the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
