For the first time in school history, the Ebarb Rebels baseball team has captured the state championship title— bringing home the school’s first overall state title since 1970. Behind fiery bats, sharp defense, and the unwavering support of their loyal fan base, the Mighty Rebels made a postseason run that will be remembered for generations.
Securing a Top 4 seed in the state playoffs, Ebarb earned a first-round bye and immediately showed they were a force to be reckoned with. They opened their playoff campaign with a dominant 15-2 win over Singer, followed by a clinical 5-0 shutout against Simpson in the quarterfinals.
That set the stage for a high-stakes semifinal matchup against #1 seed Family Christian. Backed by a passionate Ebarb crowd, the Rebels exploded out of the gate, putting up five runs in the first inning. Their bats stayed hot throughout the game, overwhelming the Flames with an offensive onslaught and cruising to an 18-8 victory.
With momentum on their side, the Rebels faced the Harrisonburg Bulldogs in the state championship game. Once again, the Rebels struck early, jumping to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Solid defense and smart base-running helped Ebarb maintain control as they capitalized on Harrisonburg’s miscues. When the final out was recorded, the Rebels stormed the field in celebration, capping their title run with an 8-3 victory.
From start to finish, the Rebels’ championship journey was fueled by talent, determination, and a united community. With their historic win, the 2024-2025 Ebarb Rebels etched their names into school lore—ending a 55-year title drought and bringing pride back to the diamond.
