Hawks take out Stanley 13-0

The Zwolle Hawks put up an impressive four-run first inning on April 10 that Stanley couldn’t overcome, being defeated 13-0.

Landon Rivers was on the mound, allowing no hits and no runs over one inning, while striking out two. 

Multiple hits were tallied by Bailey Delatin, Dallas Britt, Kallen Etheridge, and William Creamer.  Kobe Kartinez put up four RBIs, followed by Christian Howard with three and Delatin with two.

Many Tigers earn two wins via Lakeview shutouts

The Many Tigers baseball shut out the Lakeview Gators twice on April 5 during a road trip double header.

The Tigers came out swinging in the first game, scoring 18 runs over three innings, with 11 coming in the second, with Parker Founds, Trey Jones, Peyton Fredieu, Brock Booker, Tyler Rawls, and Caleb leach getting RBIs.  Founds and Nick Slaydon led the team in RBIs, with three apiece.

Booker was on the mound for the Tigers, going two innings while allowing only one hit.  He struck out five and walked nobody. Slaydon pitched one inning as relief.

The Tigers continued into the second game, which was won 16-0.

Founds had an impressive game, as he went three-for-four at the plate while driving in runs on a triple in the third and single in the fourth. 

Singles by Josh Carroll, Jones, Fredieu, and founds punctuated the massive scoring drive. Brady Meshell also laid claim to a double.

Following big win, late score costs Lady Rebels

After a huge victory over the Pleasant Hill Eagles, the Ebarb Lady Rebels softball team stumbled late on April 2 to Evans, losing 2-1.

Ebarb got on the scoreboard early after Raeghan Lewing doubled, scoring one run. Evans answered back in the fourth inning with one run and then the game winner in the sixth.

Late score lifts Blackcats over Indians

A Thursday, March 29 game turned out poorly for the Negreet Indians, as they lost to the Florien Blackcats 15-12 after a valiant fight.

The game was tied at 12 when Florien’s Hayden Tidwell singled on a 3-2 count to score one run in the top of the sixth.

Late score lifts Blackcats over Indians

A Thursday, March 29 game turned out poorly for the Negreet Indians, as they lost to the Florien Blackcats 15-12 after a valiant fight.

The game was tied at 12 when Florien’s Hayden Tidwell singled on a 3-2 count to score one run in the top of the sixth.

The Blackcats got their offense started in the first when Frank Chesson doubled and scored one run.

Lady Tigers strong against Menard

In two home games on April 4, the Many High School Lady Tigers took it to Academy of the Sacred Heart and Holy Savior Menard, winning by scores of 4-1 and 7-2, respectively.

The Tigers got going in the second inning after Raelynn Hundley drew a walk and scoring one run.

In the third, they tallied four runs on RBIs by Kaylee Hall, Presley Corley, and Hundley.

Zwolle Hawks go on streak

The Zwolle Hawks have been in rare form the past few weeks, setting down four big local competitors in the Negreet Indians, Florien Black Cats, Stanley Panthers, and Converse Wildcats.

Against Negreet on April 3, Kobe Cartinez got the ball rolling early, as he singled on the first pitch of his at-bat and scored two runs.

Landon Rivers was pitching and went three innings with three strikeouts and zero runs allowed.

Zwolle had 10 hits in the game with Christian Howard and Bailey Delatin putting up two hits to lead the batting.  They also stole seven bases with Dallas Britt leading the way with three taken.

Florien fell to the Hawks on March 26 after Zwolle took a late lead to defeat them 7-4.

Zwolle got things going with two RBIs from Dallas Britt when he hit a double in the first.

Following big win, late score costs Lady Rebels

After a huge victory over the Pleasant Hill Eagles, the Ebarb Lady Rebels softball team stumbled late on April 2 to Evans, losing 2-1.

Ebarb got on the scoreboard early after Raeghan Lewing doubled, scoring one run.  Evans answered back in the fourth inning with one run and then the game winner in the sixth.

Evans pitchers struck out eleven, while Ebarb’s Lewing sat down three via strikeout.  On the mound she surrendered two runs on four hits over seven innings on the mound, but also led the team in batting going three-for-three.

Earlier, on March 27, the girls were in rare form taking out the Pleasant Hill Lady Eagles 26-0.

Lewing didn’t allow a single run and only one hit over the three innings pitched.

Autumn Wyatt put up four hits on five at-bats.  She singled in the first, singled in the second, homered in the third, and singled in the third.  She was one triple away from hitting for the cycle.

Ebarb Rebels showing progress

After a choppy start to the season, the Ebarb Rebels baseball team shows signs of progression and coming together, winning four of their last six games.

The Rebels went down in defeat on April 2, losing 16-8 to Evans.

The Rebels scored four runs in the sixth inning on hits by Hunter Barnes, Garrett Rivers, Trayce Ezernack, and Robert Meshell.

Ezernack was on the mound for Ebarb, going four innings and allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out four and walking one.  He was relieved by Jacob Lovelady, who pitched two-thirds of an inning, and Alec Remedies, who pitched one-third of an inning.

Days before, on March 27, the Rebels traveled to Pleasant Hill and soundly defeated the Eagles 13-3.

Many Tigers defeat St. Mary

The Many Tigers bats came alive in the bottom of the third inning on March 23, scoring five runs to put them well on the way to shutting out the St. Mary Tigers of Natchitoches by a total score of 9-0.

Peyton Fredieu was on fire during the game, getting two hits on four at bats, a home run, and knocking in 4 RBIs. Josh Carroll also had two RBIs on two hits, while pitcher Brock Booker also had two RBIs.
