Ebarb Lady Rebels defeated at Marsh Madness

It was a well-played, breakthrough season for the Ebarb Lady Rebels that saw them play through to the semi-finals of the LHSAA’s Marsh Madness.

Lady Tigers fall to Rosepine

Both the Many Lady Tigers and Rosepine Lady Eagles were involved in a pitching battle during their game on February 26, with Many registering a 1-0 loss.

Makynli Miller started the game for the Tigers and recorded 21 outs.  She surrendered only one run on two hits over seven innings with three strikeouts and no walks.

Jada Carhee hit a double in the second inning, the only one to be had by the Tigers.  Rosepine’s pitcher struck out 19.

Many Tigers rout Leesville 19-3

 

The Many Tigers are looking strong early in the season, putting up a total of 11 runs in the fifth inning alone during their February 26 win against Leesville.

The aforementioned offensive onslaught was led by Trey Jones, Noah Jones, Brady Meshell, Nick Slaydon, Josh Carroll, and Carson Curtis.  They all registered RBIs during the inning.

Curtis pitched five innings, allowing only three runs on four hits.  He struck out three. 

The Tigers tallied 19 hits total, with Noah Jones leading with four hits in four at-bats.

Florien Blackcats soundly defeat Castor

The Florien Blackcats baseball team were off to the races early during their February 25 game against Castor, soundly defeating the team 12-2.

Castor put up their only two runs in the first inning but lost that lead quickly when Florien came back with three runs in the bottom of that same inning. 

Florien’s truly commanding lead came in the fourth inning with six runs thanks to the bats of Hunter Ford, Ryan Chesson, Alijah Remedies, and Cole Stewart.

On the mound for the cats was Jaylynn Knippers, who pitched four innings while allowing two runs on nine hits.  He also struck out four and walked one.

The box score shows Florien with 11 hits with Gage Remedies, Stewart, Ford, and Chesson getting multiple hits.  They also had four stolen bases, with Remedies leading the pack with three.

Toledo Bend Bass Club holds December tournament

This was a pretty nice weekend as far as the weather goes for a late year fishing tournament such as the first annual Mike & Tony Best 6 shootout tournament among the best 6 fishermen,

Mikey Woods come in 1st place with 28.23 for a two-day total and Tim Oxley won the big bass honors for the Best 6 tournament with 6.37 pounds. Shannon Thibodeaux came in first in the TBBC with 14.56 pounds, and Tony Sattler came in second with 14.10 pounds and he also had big bass for the club with a 4.45 pounder.

Tigers end season with loss to Welsh

The Many Tigers lost an absolute heartbreaker to the Welsh Greyhounds 28-21 during the LHSAA 2A semifinal held on November 30 at John Curtis Tiger Stadium in Many.

The loss puts an end to the season which players, coaches, and local fans would end with a championship in the Super Dome this weekend.

The team put up an amazing 15-2 record, with its only losses were against a higher classification opponent, North Desoto, and Welsh, who also defeated the Tigers last year during the same leg of the playoffs.

Many kicked off to Welsh to start the game, and Austyn Benoit quickly put up a fiveyard rushing touchdown which had the Tigers trailing early by seven points.

Tigers demolish Vidalia, stomp Rayville in playoffs

The Many Tigers are making the most of their deep run into the LHSAA Class 2A playoffs by most recently shutting out Vidalia 35-0 in the quarterfinals and stomping Rayville 53-32 in the second round. Their wins have advanced them to their third straight semi-final game against Welsh at John Curtis Tiger Stadium on November 30.

Vidalia was no match for the Tigers rushing offense, with Terrence Williams rushing 12 times for 237 yards and Ni’Kendrick Carter with seven carries for 140 yards. They combined for two touchdowns each in the game.

Many scored two touchdowns within one minute halfway through the first quarter for a 14-0 lead. Near the end of the quarter they’d see another touchdown to make the score 21-0.

Quarterback Zequarrios “Cadillac” Rhone called his own number for the second quarter’s touchdown, while Terrence Williams put the final touchdown of the night on the board in the third quarter.

Tigers trample Ville Platte 76-0

The top seeded Many Tigers soundly defeated the last seed Ville Platte Bulldogs during the first round of the LHSAA 2A playoffs on Friday, November 9 by a score of 76-0.

The night was a special one at John Curtis Tiger Stadium, as Veterans Day was to be observed over the weekend, and on the way to the field, each Tiger shook the hands and respected those who served our country.

Tiger end regular season district camps, top seed

Those mighty Many Tigers ended their regular season on Friday, November 2 not only with a huge 20-0 win against the Winnfield Tigers, but as district champs and the top seeded team going into the Class 2A LHSAA high school playoffs.

The game started with Winnfield having great field position inside Many territory, with Tristen Williams getting a run to inch a little bit closer to their end zone. The position didn’t help, as soon enough the Many Tigers were on offense and saw Caleb Leach wide open on the first Many play of the game, going 97 yards for a touchdown to bring the score to 7-0.

Many Tigers have no problem with Red River Bulldogs

The Many Tigers had zero problem handing the Red River Bulldogs away on October 26, defeating the team soundly by a score of 49-6.

To start, Many won the toss deferred to receive to begin the second half. The bulldogs took a short kick at their 45-yard-line. Bulldog quarterback Gakerreon McDonald handed off to Patrick Perkins to begin their drive for very little gain. It wasn’t long, despite Johnnie Maxie getting close to first down yardage.

Ni’Kendrick took the first carry of the night for the tigers, getting thee yards on the down. Shortly afterward, he received a toss for his first touchdown of the night, leaving the score at 7-0.
