The Florien Blackcats baseball team were off to the races early during their February 25 game against Castor, soundly defeating the team 12-2.
Castor put up their only two runs in the first inning but lost that lead quickly when Florien came back with three runs in the bottom of that same inning.
Florien’s truly commanding lead came in the fourth inning with six runs thanks to the bats of Hunter Ford, Ryan Chesson, Alijah Remedies, and Cole Stewart.
On the mound for the cats was Jaylynn Knippers, who pitched four innings while allowing two runs on nine hits. He also struck out four and walked one.
The box score shows Florien with 11 hits with Gage Remedies, Stewart, Ford, and Chesson getting multiple hits. They also had four stolen bases, with Remedies leading the pack with three.
