Lady Tigers defeat North DeSoto 11-8

The Lady Tigers came alive late during their game against North DeSoto on March 28.

The Tigers took an early lead in the second inning when Abbie Baker drew a walk and scored a run.

North Desoto answered in the top of the second with a tying run, but the Tigers answered back during the bottom of said inning with six runs tallied. Makynli Miller, Raelynn Hundley, Baker, and Keely Dubois each had RBIs during the half-inning.

Many Tigers fall to North DeSoto

The Many Tigers put up a big struggle, but losing the lead in the sixth inning was something they simply couldn’t overcome as they were defeated by North DeSoto 5-2.

Caron Curtis doubled in the fifth inning, which scored two runs, putting the Tigers over North Desoto 2-1 before the ill-fated sixth inning.

Nick Slaydon was on the mound for the Tigers, surrendering five runs on eight hits over five and 1/3 innings. He struck out four with no walks. Caleb Leach entered out of the bullpen and pitched for one and 2/3 innings.

The Lady Tigers came alive late during their game against North DeSoto on March 28.

The Tigers took an early lead in the second inning when Abbie Baker drew a walk and scored a run.

North Desoto answered in the top of the second with a tying run, but the Tigers answered back during the bottom of said inning with six runs tallied.  Makynli Miller, Raelynn Hundley, Baker, and Keely Dubois each had RBIs during the half-inning.

Miller was pitching for the Lady Tigers and let go of eight runs on ten hits.  She pitched seven innings and struck out two.

Dubois and Jada Carhee both had home runs on the day.  The team as a whole put up 12 hits with Brook Jenkins, Dubois, and Carhee all claiming multiple hits.  Dubois and Jenkins each added three hits to their stats to lead the Lady Tigers on that Thursday.

Ebarb Rebels drop heartbreaker to Evans

Ebarb took on Evans away on March 28 and fought valiantly until the end, when Evans tallied six runs in the bottom of the fifth to put them over the Rebels.

Ebarb did put up five hits and scored nine runs during the game, but Evans had 15 hits and 13 runs that that paved their way to the win.

Ebarb had four runs in the second inning.  Walks on Nathan Meshell, Keion Calhoun, Ron Clemence, and Jayden Wilson helped immensely.

Alec Remedies pitched relief and put up multiple hits on the day.  Maddox Ebarb also had multiple hits.  Meshell had two stolen bases on the day.

Britt’s walk-off lifts Hawks over Tigers

Riley Britt’s sacrifice fly in the eighth inning gave the Zwolle Hawks a big win over the Logansport Tigers on Friday, March 8.

Logansport opened the scoring in the first inning with one run.

However, Zwolle’s bats came alive in the third inning with four runs with Britt, Kallen Etheridge, and Brenyn Ebarb driving in runs.

Landon Rivers was on the pitcher’s mound and went five innings, allowing four hits and three runs with seven K’s.

Overall, the box score shows Zwolle with seven hits.  Britt and Rivers had multiple hits with Britt going three-for-three at the plate.

Negreet wins BWS basketball

Negreet 11-12 year old boys traveled to Vernon Parish to compete in the BWS basketball league and sweep district. Proudly displaying their rings are, front row from left, Conner Wellman, Maddox Davis, Braxton DeRouen, Eli Lowe, Ace Bowling, and Cade Cook. On the back row are Layton Byles, Jacob Rhodes, JaMauri Thomas, Michael Moore, Landyn Leach, Bryson Smith, and Johnathan Holmes. Their coach is Delane Henry.
