Maggie Mae Graham Ward, 95, passed away Aug. 17, 2014. A memorial service will be held for her at Warren Meadows  Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Hulvatus Ward, and her daughter, Gloria Ward Holmes, all long time residents of Sabine Parish. She is survived by her two sons, Roger Eugene and Bobby Joe Ward along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ward and her daughter, Gloria Ward Holmes, will both be interred in the Ward family burial ground at the Zwolle Cemetery in a private ceremony

Julie Renee Alvarez, 57, born in Houston, Texas, on June 18, 1957, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014. Services were held Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. at San Jacinto Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. Burial followed on Aug. 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Clearwater Cemetery in Florien. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence and Lola Evans and Walter   and Helen Theiler; father, Henri M. Theiler and nephew, Ronald A. Theiler. She is survived by her mother, Ernestine Evans Belsha; loving husband, Abel Alvarez, Jr.; sons, Jeremiah A. Alvarez and wife, Tina, and Aaron J. Alvarez; grandchildren, Samantha A. Alvarez, Jesse A. Alvarez; siblings Gerald D. Theiler, Sr., Janie Theiler and Jo Anne Bailey.

Funeral services honoring the life of Danny Ray Waters, 61, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19 at Lakeside Baptist Church in Converse, with the Rev. Randy Parker officiating. Burial followed in Converse Cemetery. Danny was born in Shreveport to Jessie and Leona Spear Waters and passed away in Converse. Danny proudly serviced his country in the US Army. Preceding Danny in death were his father, Jessie Golden Waters and brothers, Jerry Waters, Jim Waters and Jay Waters. Funeral services honoring the life of Donald Lindsey, 67, were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, with the Reverends Roland George and Dean Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Old Pisgah
Cemetery in Belmont. Donald was born in Shreveport, on Sept. 27, 1946 to his parents John and Mary Austin Lindsey and passed away in Shreveport, on August 10, 2014. Donald enjoyed living life to the fullest and never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Austin Lindsey. Donald is survived by wife, Charlot Lindsey; 
daughters, Shaquila Patrick and Ashlye Lindsey; son, Chris Sharpley; grandchildren, Makenzi Patrick, Harleigh Callens, and Cullen Patrick; and a host of nieces and nephews.
