Funeral services for Ezra Young, 80, of Many, were held on Thursday, Sept. 11 beginning at 2 p.m. at the Warren  Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many with his grandson, the Rev. Robert Gibbo and the Rev. Daniel Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Pendleton Cemetery in Many. Ezra Young was born on Thursday, July 12, 1934 in Mittie. He passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at Sabine Medical Center in Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Adelia Bailey Young; two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Lurline Young of Many; two sons, Ezra Shane Young of Lake Charles and Clay Walker Young of Many; four daughters, La- Donna Gibbo of Timpson, Texas, DeJuana Renteria of New Caney, Texas; Narda Weekes of Houston, Texas and Carla Young of Many; eight sisters; two brothers; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Memorial services for Gary Wayne Wilkerson, 64, of Florien, were held on Saturday, Sept. 13, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many, with Bro. Wilton Anthony officiating. Gary Wayne Wilkerson was born on Thursday, Feb. 16, 1950 in Crowley. He passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014 at Sabine Medical Center in Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Dorothy Welch; son, Benson Cloud Wilkerson and brother, Glenn Wilkerson. He is survived by his wife Frances Clark of Florien; daughter, Rhonda Lynn Wilkerson of Crowley;  grandchildren, Tayler Breigh Hanks, Taryn Reigh Breaux, Haven Cloud Wilkerson, Keyana Winn Wilkerson and Trevor Beard; great-grandchild, Taizley Glynn; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services for JoAnn Abraham, 74, of Many, were held on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Strussenberg officiated. Interment followed in the Aimwell Cemetery. JoAnn was born on July 12, 1940 in Shreveport. She entered into eternal rest at her residence on September 10, 2014. She is survived by her children, Linda Black, Terry Reeves, Steven Abraham, Vickie Abraham, Louis Abraham, Sandra Chastain, Daniel Abraham, and Benjamin Abraham; sister Marie Odom; brother David Lofton; 16 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and a host of friends.
Honoring her as pallbearers were Stanley Lofton, Blake Dfaff, Nick Garrett, Nick Sepulvado, Desmond Milligan, and Gary Odom.

James Lee “Pappy” Mays

James Lee “Pappy” Mays, 58, of Carlyss passed away on Sept. 13, 2014. James Lee was a life-long resident of Carlyss. He loved to cook, was a great carpenter on his off time and enjoyed catching shrimp in his younger days. Pappy loved his family, cherished his grandchildren. James Lee is survived by his wife of 39 years, Peggy Cecilia Mays of Carlyss; a daughter, Daphne Lanclos and husband, Mike; two sons, Brent Mays and wife, Stacie and Jared Mays and wife, Nicole all  of Carlyss; mother, Peggy Joyce Mays of Many; five granddaughters, Christin and Lauren Richardson, Bayleigh and  Hayleigh Lanclos, and Dixie Mays and new sibling, Baby Mays; a grandson, Drake Mays; three brothers, Rodney Mays of Sulphur, Eddie Mays and wife, Rose of Carlyss, and Jack Mays and wife, Teri of Sulphur; two sisters, Vicky Leggett and

Kenneth Dean Gengo

Kenneth Dean Gengo, Sr., 79, of Vidor, Texas, died September 2, 2014, in his home after a long battle with pulmonary  fibrosis. Ken was born in Orange, Texas to Charlie Gengo and Mabel Flanigan Gengo, on Sept. 24, 1934. After serving in the USAF, working for Equitable Bag Co. and selling chemicals for Ciba- Geigy, Ken studied HVAC and graduated from the Institute of Technology of Chicago, Ill. He owned and operated Economy Air Conditioning in Vidor and later in Beaumont, Texas. He taught an air conditioning class at Vidor High School in 1980- 81, which was a great satisfaction to him. He and Barbara enjoyed traveling by RV seeing America and visiting children, grandchildren and siblings. Among the many things Ken loved were his family, his church, fishing, playing his guitar, playing his piano, singing, and he loved to laugh.
