Funeral Services for Kenneth Carroll Emery, 83, of Lake Charles, were held on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Congregational Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill with the Rev. Brian Jennings officiating. Burial followed in the Bethany Cemetery in Marthaville. Kenneth Carroll Emery was born on Friday, Aug. 28, 1931 in Cedar County, Mo. He passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Rachel Jennings Emery. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Goldman and husband, Michael, of Lake

Loving mother and wife Helen Louise Price White went to be with Our LORD Oct. 26, 2014, passing peacefully in her sleep. A longtime resident of Sabine Parish, she was preceded in death by her husband R. F. “Joe” White and son Danny Stiefvater, her parents, a brother and three sisters. She is survived by her sons Bob, Stiefvater and Mike Autrey; daughter, Kerry Autrey and stepchildren, Don and Wayne White and Dean Blackwell. As a grandmother to 15 and many great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends, Louise often demonstrated her deep caring for others. She was an avid reader and great cook. In the 94 years with us she touched the lives of many with kindness, devotion and selfless generosity. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Funeral services for James William “J. W.” Durrett, 70, of Many, were held on Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at Plainview Baptist Church with the Reverends Tim Leach and. J. D. Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Plainview Cemetery. J. W. Durrett was born on Thursday, March 23, 1944 in Sabine Parish. He passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 at Many Health Care North. He was preceded in death by his parents, William David Durrett, Sr. and Ruby Wilson Durrett. He is survived by his brothers, William David Durrett, Jr. and wife, Eula, of Hornbeck, Russell Durrett of Hornbeck and Dwight Durrett and wife, Teresa of Hornbeck; sisters, Juanita Faircloth of Frisco, Texas, Bettye Broussard and husband, Leroy, of Iota and Linda Ulmer and husband, Melvin, of Magee, Miss. along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
